Why should I move to Wichita?
I live in Greensboro NC and may end up working in Wichita KS. The job is great and would be one that I'd gladly stay at for the next 10-20 years based on the position and the company. I just don't know if I want to live in Wichita. Anyone from the area (now or in the past) that could tell me why Wichita would be a great place to move to? Thanks! :-)

Well, if you're into tornado-watcing as a hobby, Wichita is the place for you. Maybe you should take a trip out there and see if you really want to do this. Sorry, but Wichita isn't too impressive. My aunt used to live there. Cool that the job would be great, though. I guess it comes down to your own personal likes and dislikes. A realtor could probably direct you to the better parts of town, at least. Good luck!

Hi, I have lived in Wichita 10 years. I love it. It is very affordable and there are lots of things to do. We have a growing downtown with lots of concerts and live music. Every First Friday of the month we have a free band crawl. Every Final Friday of the month there is a free art crawl all over the downtown area. We have a ton of restaurants and decent shopping. There are a few stores that we don't have but I usually go to Kansas City if I need to go to those (it is a 3 hour drive). The Intrust Bank Arena recently was built ( http://www.intrustbankarena.com/ ) which means that we have even more things to do. I have a real estate blog http://www.LiveInWichita.com where I post information about Wichita and the real estate market. Just recently we were voted the most affordable city to live in the USA!
